Nature works miracles with ENSEMBLE 1700
All of a sudden Celidoro moves from being entirely isolated to total freedom. Everything is completely new: the world, its people, the confusing presence of women and of course – his natural instincts keep colliding with all sorts of strange regulations. This light-hearted opera buffa sees him finding his way through the thicket of power and love games to his place in society. Giuseppe Scarlati, a little known member of the illustrious musical dynasty, positively scintillates with comedic esprit, enchanting melodiousness, sparkling coloraturas, and lively ensemble scenes. Dorothee Oberlinger and her Ensemble 1700 who were awarded an Opus Klassik for their Potsdam production of G.B. Bononcini’s »Polifemo«, ensure that the piece is in the best possible hands. Award-winning French film maker Emmanuel Mouret presents an exciting production boldly moving the piece to the present.
